Braised Clams with Shrimp and Chorizo



Serve this in a large bowl with Italian garlic bread.

  • tablespoonOlive Oil
  • 2clovesgarlic, minced
  • 4shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1/2cupchopped spicy mexican chorizoe
  • 32clams, rinsed
  • 8shrimp, peeled and un-veined
  • 1cupwhite wine
  • 4cupsbottled clam juice
  • 2tablespoonsbutter
  • 1tablespoonchopped fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, rosemary)



Step 1 In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic, shallots, chorizo, and cook 30 seconds.
Step 2 Add clams and shrimp. Add white wine and reduce liquid by half. Add clam juice and cover until all clams open.
Step 3 Swirl in butter and herbs.
